Our November Production will be

The Woman in White

by Wilkie Collins

directed by Emma Vicarage

The play is a Victorian mystery set in the mid-19th century with a plot full of atmospheric drama and fascinating characters. It was considered the first of its genre at the time. Sir Percival Glyde, who is being hounded for money by the sinister Count Fosco, marries the heiress Laura Fairlie for her fortune. As events unfold, Glyde's efforts to secure the money - and also to remove the threat to his reputation posed by the unfortunate Anne Catherick - become more desperate and cruel. Combined with this tale of disturbing intrigue are elements of romance and comedy: the resulting mix is headily entertaining.

We're starting with a reading of the play on Thursday 31st July, and then auditions on the Tuesday 5th, Thursday 7th, Tuesday 12th and Thursday 14th August.

Rehearsals will be every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm, starting on the 26th August. The run of the show is: get in Sunday 9th November, dress rehearsal Monday 10th November, performances Tuesday 11th - Saturday 15th November (inc Saturday matinee), get out after last show.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Reading, Auditions and Rehearsals are all intended to be at 7.30pm at the Place, Wilfred Road, Taunton TA1 1TB.  However, there is building work scheduled at the Place during August. If this impacts any of the events we may need to relocate or reschedule. In this event emails to members and social media postings will be sent out as far ahead as possible.  This website page will also be updated.

If anyone is interested in backstage roles then please contact the producer, Mark Dawson on mark@tauntonthespians.org.uk.
